Hello, I'm Nina
The face behind Lady Griddlebone

We struggled to find high quality furniture with which would sit well in our contemporary space. I took to creating my own vintage makeovers and quickly discovered others loved them too! My passion has become a profession.

My eclectic style steers towards timeless rather than frilly, elegance mingling with eccentricity. I like to arouse the imagination, often using colour and pattern for a striking design statement. I love to work with clients who are looking for something truly unique, to allow my design artistry and skills to flourish. Every piece is lovingly restored and immaculately crafted based on its individual character, creating authentic furniture with a touch of magic for everyday living.

"Lady Griddlebone"?

You’ve found my website so probably already know that I specialise refinishing antique and vintage furniture.

We first put down roots in Scotland around ten years ago with an appreciation for, not only reclaiming and reusing, but also the soulfulness and depth that vintage items can add to a home.

Inspired by the poem from "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and the sassy soprano from the musical 'Cats', Lady Griddlebone was actually my beloved Siamese who lived with me in Manchester after University. I've never forgotten her as she was a truly stylish and quirky "cool cat" so it seemed only fitting to name my business in her honour.
